Welcome to the Standard Greeting blog spot. As you may have read in the about section of our website Salve’ (pronounced sal-vay) is another way of saying hello in Italian. It comes from the latin word salvare which translates to be well. Think of the area as multi-faceted place to not only gain knowledge about our wonderful products and some of the ingredients we use, but also find some great treasures off the beaten path. You will meet some new personalities within the community in our Spotlight Fridays. I love meeting new people and listening to them share their ideas, life experiences, or gifts. No matter where you come from hellos are all about taking the chance to acknowledge the existence of another human being.

Introverted by nature, I was painfully shy as a kid, saying hello to others made me nervous. It was always nice when someone extended a friendly greeting. It was like a breath of fresh air that allowed me to breathe a relieving exhale. As I got older greetings became somewhat easier. More so, I saw the value of going out of my way to say hi to others who seemed reluctant to break the ice. Isn’t that what life is like? We’re all going along our path and life’s circumstances greet us with the unexpected. It is my hope that you will find knowledge and be inspired, even if it is just for a moment, pause and consider the possibilities. Ciao!
